Awaiting my lashing

Well, here I am, screwing up again. Forgot to ask my boss if I could leave early for a doctor's appointment and now find myself begging the day-of. What sheer stupidity. Nothing happens after 4:30pm but she's going to make me feel like shit for asking anyway. Not directly - probably with a somewhat snide reply and a few dirty looks or extra "tone" when she speaks to me next. Seriously, everyone in Admin around here is SO freaking anal retentive and it doesn't matter how many things I do right all they see are the small mistakes I make . . . and then of course they (really she - my boss) acts like I'm just a royal fuck up. Well, bite me. Bite me hard. I'm smarter than you and I've been everyone's bitch for 18 months. I will gouge my own eyes out with spoons if that's what it takes to get out of here.

Stupid People

Geez, rarely can you find as large of a rotting cesspool of stupid people as on the forums for a game.

It's seriously mind-boggling.

I have a new plan for Blizzard - just keep the servers down until all the people who keep bitching that they're "going to leave" just hurry up and do it. Cancel your accounts, dispute charges, whatever - we don't give a flying rat's ass what you're going to do, just that you hurry up and do it so that you'll shut up already.

Awfully hard to find useful content on the boards when they're flooded with this crap.

Inauguration

I've been disgusted enough with politics that I didn't even realize today was inauguration day until I was running errands and a shop had the TV on. There he was the bumbling dumbass, fumbling his way through trying to speak at lunch and generally looking and sounding doofy.

What's new, right?

Thus ends a dismal year, or as I like to think of it, "The Fleecing of America", a play in three acts, courtesy of the Republican Party. Featuring:

  • The Campaign, or "Let's see just how dumb the public is ... Terror, Gays, Terror, Gays!".
  • The Election, or "Wow, they really are that dumb ...".
  • The Inauguration, or "... and now you're totally hosed".

Unfortunately, it seems that third act is sticking around for an extended engagement.

sigh

Loop

Just a little hint to any of you who open a restaurant and buy a CD player to play music: the loop button is not for you.

We're sitting in Chutney's, our local Indian restaurant of choice, and the same %$@!ing song has been playing all night on repeat. Every minute, there are @$*%ing kissing noises on the track and I'm ready to tear my ears out.

Be kind to your patrons - try the radio.

That Itch

So, 15 years after I finished my first set of immunotherapy shots for my allergies, I started again on Monday since the last ones seem to have lost their effectiveness.

It's now Wednesday morning and it's all I can do to stop myself from tearing all of the skin off of my arms.

Maybe I'm just forgetting, but I can't recall the shots itching so badly last time I went through this - anybody have any idea whether I should be concerned?
